This collection was inspired by the work of Carlos Tarrats who creates dynamic still life images of plants using the mixed media of paint and photography. I painted a transparent sheet of acrylic for the foreground and a dark monochrome backdrop. The paint splatters create a sense of movement, giving the impression that the plant is exploding outwards.
